I thought some of you might be interested to know about some of my personal experiences with homeopathy. There are too many to list, as homeopathy has been the treatment of choice for myself and my immediate family for almost 25 years and I have seen so many miraculous results. What I am working with at this moment is my dog, Rowdy.
Rowdy is an 11 1/2 year old English Bulldog. She is a rescue who found us when she was not quite 4. Given that the expected life span of this breed is 8 to 10 years, I’d say we’re not doing too bad. But, very unfortunately, Rowdy is declining. Three years ago she was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. The vet thought she may have six months left. Obviously, I have treated her homeopathically. She has had a good life with nearly zero CHF symptoms until now.
I saw the symptoms beginning rather quickly and she was feeling very badly. I tried the remedies that normally work for her as well as a couple that looked good when I repertorized. They helped a little, but not enough. I decided on a better remedy, which I did not have on hand. Even as a homeopath it can be difficult to find less common remedies quickly. It was a long wait of several days. I considered asking the vet to put her down in order to end her suffering, which is not something I normally would think about, but she was struggling so much. After some shipping issues, I ended up asking a friend to overnight it to me.
The remedy, Laurocerasus, arrived while I was out and some of my kids were home. I asked my daughter to go ahead and give Rowdy a dose. An hour later she texted that it seemed odd since it hadn’t been very long, but the swelling was visibly decreased and her breathing was notably better. When I returned home a little while later, I could see a dramatic difference.
Over the next several days the remedy was repeated frequently and each time there was improvement. I now have a content and peaceful dog. She is breathing easily, she is not in pain, she is no longer scared. Vomiting and coughing have completely stopped. Make no mistake, she is still dying. I see it in the way she can only hold herself up on her legs for a short time and how she wants nothing more to be snuggled up in her bed. She eats small amounts when she feels like it and is still drinking a bit.
I don’t know how long she has, and I know it is not nearly as much time as I wish it were (it never is!), but I am content to allow the process to continue. Homeopathy does not “cure” death, nor does anything else under the sun, but allowing the process to happen gently and easily is the best I could hope for for my best friend.
Update:
Rowdy passed away several days after this was written. It was a beautiful and peaceful death with her family around her. I am immensely grateful for everything homeopathy did to help her make that transition.
