Homeopathy for the Holidays

The holiday season brings with it a lot of stress. Whether it’s related to finances, travel, choosing the perfect gifts, or anything else, it can be an overwhelming time. Many of us find ourselves feeling burned out and anxious, which is not conducive to enjoying all those parties and family gatherings. Homeopathy can help! Here are some remedies to consider if your holiday season has you feeling like you wish January was here already.

Remedies for jet lag and other travel related issues:

Arnica Montana (Arn): There is a feeling of soreness and achiness in your muscles. Thoughts might seem fuzzy and unclear.

Nux vomica (Nux-v): Irritability is present, as well as a feeling of being hungover, even if that is not the case. There may be a headache and nausea along with exhaustion.

Cocculus (Cocc): This remedy has a feeling of having been up all night, whether that was the case or not. There is dizziness and nausea that is better from lying down.

Gelsemium (Gels): After a flight, there is extreme exhaustion that does not want to lessen. It may be difficult to even lift the head off the pillow. A person needing this remedy probably had a good deal of worry prior to and during the trip itself.


Remedies for anxiety:

Aconite (Acon): Anxiety feels intense and sudden, accompanied by a strong sense of fear, or even worry about death. The face flushes and the heart pounds or races. There may also be shortness of breath. Suddenness is key to this remedy.

Argentum nitricum (Arg-n): This person is in a hurry. They need to be in constant motion. Diarrhea is brought on by anticipation. They may worry that they will die if they are left alone.

Arsenicum album (Ars): There is a deep anxiety related to health. Everything around them must be clean and orderly, with a need to control their environment. The anxiety may be accompanied by gastrointestinal issues.

Kali phosphoricum (Kali-p): Overwork or illness has exhausted this person. They may be jumpy, overreacting to ordinary sounds. There is insomnia and an inability to concentrate. Warmth and rest make them feel better.

Phosphorus (Phos): Fearful people who are open and imaginative. They feel other’s pain and have great sympathy for them, to the point where it affects their own health and well-being. Company and reassurance help alleviate the symptoms.
