We here on the west coast of Florida find ourselves once again watching a hurricane travel in our direction. This time it’s Hurricane Idalia… what IS it with the “I” storms? In the last several years we’ve had Irma, Ian, and now Idalia all causing major impacts. I vote we skip the letter I when naming storms from here on out.
Watching and waiting can be very stressful. Exactly where it will make landfall is never a guarantee until it actually happens. How far out will the the wind extend? How high will the water get? And on and on. It can be exhausting!
Take a break! Stepping away from the 24/7 coverage can help you gain perspective and feel a bit more peace. Just make sure to check in at regular intervals and keep the emergency alerts on your phone.
Be sure all your supplies are ready to go… flashlights, batteries, gas in the car, non perishable food, etc. Here’s a helpful list if you need one. Have a “go bag” ready in case you need to evacuate. Follow the advice of the authorities in your area. Just having all of this taken care of can help relieve stress.
What can be helpful from a homeopathic perspective? Your constitutional remedy, first of all. This will support you on all levels and hopefully make things much less overwhelming or scary.
