Is Homeopathy Enough?

We live in a time with multiple issues that challenge our health. The food we eat is not as nutritious as it used to be or as it should be. The air we breathe is polluted to one degree or another, depending on where we live. We face constant demands on our time and energy from work and family. We have nonstop exposure to a 24 hour news cycle. Is homeopathy enough to counteract all these things?

It’s a really really helpful tool for all of us. But ideally, the homeopathic patient wants to be a part of their own healing. This means different things for different people. If a person eats three fast food meals a day, it’s going to be hard for them to find optimal health, even with a properly prescribed remedy. If they are working fifteen hour days and forgoing sleep to a significant extent, they would do well to adjust their lifestyle. Someone who watches or reads the news all day every day would likely significantly lower their stress levels by limiting their consumption.

No one is perfect, and no one has to be. Eating whole foods 80% of the time is a good target to aspire to. If you are overcommitted, cut back a bit. Find something you love to do and make time for it. Allow yourself a limited time each day to read or watch the news and then turn it off. Spend time in nature. Exercise in whatever way feels comfortable to you. Hang out with family and friends.

Lifestyle changes are never easy, but the support of a good remedy is very helpful in achieving your goals and boosting your overall health!

Materia Medica

Phosphoricum acidum (Phos-ac): A person needing this remedy would have a great deal of depression and apathy as well as very pronounced fatigue and weakness. A state of collapse is described in the literature. This state is often due to grief, but can also be due to debilitating illness, long standing stress, or chronic diarrhea, as well as drug and alcohol addiction. The patient might have a headache which feels like a weight is pressing on their head and they crave fruit and fruit juices; things considered refreshing.
